Tsunami and Mount Merapi eruption is sufficient to the Indonesian massacre

We mourn, huge loss of life

The twin disasters, which occurred almost simultaneously one week ago, have together killed nearly 500 people.
Mount Merapi, among 20 mountains now rumbling and spitting out ash in Indonesia, is one of the world's most active.
Mount Merapi, locally known as “Gunung Merapi”  it meansMountain of Fire’ is a conical volcano located on the border between Central Java and Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It is the most active volcano in Indonesia and has erupted regularly since 1548. It is very close to the city of Yogyakarta, and thousands of people live on the flanks of the volcano, with villages as high as 1700 m above sea level.
Eruption was preceded by a big earthquake felt at several places in Java. The first explosion occurred in December 27, 1822 at 09.00am. A strong explosion destroyed the west part of the summit.

Mount Merapi is an active volcano, but is relatively quiet, report government officials in Indonesia. And that is the reason why the Volcanology Agency in the country had not taken proper steps to tackle an unforeseen crisis. Volunteers and police officials who have reached the scene of disaster are now providing emergency medical aid to the victims of the Mount Merapi eruption. It has been reported that most people living close to the 2,968 meters high peak in Indonesia have been affected by the hot air and ashes spewing out of the erupted volcano.

The government of Indonesia has said, the citizens of the country to come forward with help for the victims of the eruption. And reports from the island country claim that volunteers are more than ready to provide help, medical or otherwise to the sufferers. The search for possible survivors after the eruption on Mount Merapi is still on, say rescue workers.
